My Professional Journey
My journey in neurosurgery has been shaped by curiosity, discipline and a deep respect for every patient who places their trust in me. From my early days as a medical student in Assam to completing my MCh in Neurosurgery at NIMHANS, Bangalore and my Clinical Fellowship in Epilepsy Surgery at the Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University, Canada, I have always believed that neurosurgery is not just about operating. It is about restoring dignity, independence and hope. I have been fortunate to train under some of the finest neurosurgeons in India and abroad, at institutions including NIMHANS, LNJP Hospital New Delhi, JIPMER Puducherry and Medanta, Gurugram, learning both traditional open techniques and the most advanced minimally invasive and robotic approaches. My special interest in epilepsy surgery grew from seeing how life-changing seizure control can be for young people and their families.
With over a decade of dedicated neurosurgical experience, I have focused on building a comprehensive epilepsy surgery programme in Faridabad and Delhi NCR, combining careful presurgical evaluation, advanced neuroimaging, robotic Stereo-EEG and minimally invasive techniques such as laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT), alongside neuromodulation options including deep brain stimulation (DBS) and vagus nerve stimulation (VNS). As a neurosurgeon in Faridabad, my practice also spans the full range of brain and spine care, including minimally invasive spine surgery, brain tumour surgery, functional neurosurgery and neuroendoscopy. Alongside clinical practice, I have been actively involved in academic and training responsibilities, guiding DNB Neurosurgery residents through clinical teaching, conceptual lectures and close supervision of neurosurgical procedures. I have also mentored paramedical staff and medical officers in operative and perioperative care, working to maintain high standards of neurosurgical care delivery. In my daily practice, I manage neurosurgical patients across OPD, inpatient wards, emergency services and neuro-intensive care units at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, ensuring continuity of care from first consultation to recovery.
I strongly believe in a patient-centred, multidisciplinary approach, where decisions are made after detailed evaluation, evidence-based practice and careful planning with neurologists, radiologists, rehabilitation specialists and families. Whether the right path is epilepsy surgery, spine surgery, neuromodulation or advanced non-invasive planning, my aim is always to offer the safest option with the best long-term outcome for every patient.
